David has an extensive career in projects and procurement within the construction industry.
For over 40 years he has been associated with the development and implementation of major projects in many parts of the world, which has provided an insight into the many organisational and cultural challenges that projects and global operations can generate.
He has been an active promoter of collaborative concepts and the development of extended enterprises through the building of alliances.
He was the architect and author of the CRAFT collaborative methodology and technical author of the British standards Institution (BSI) PAS 11000 framework the world’s first Collaborative business relationship standard.
He was chairman of the BSI committee that developed BS 11000 to a national standard and led the ISO committee developing ISO 44001 and was appointed as chairman of the International ISO committee post publication in March 2017.
With over 25 years in business, David leads the strategic development of services at Tenders UK.
Experienced in Logistics, Innovation, Rail, Defence, Cleaning, Healthcare, Translation, Transcription, Construction, Gas Maintenance, Sewerage and IT, David is able to deliver meaningful support for organisations aiming to win new or retain existing contracts. In the past 12 months, David’s clients have secured £872 million from the public sector.
Adam has an enviable track record of delivering 150 bids across the public sector in the last 4 years, including securing a £45 million contract in the Rail Industry. In the last 12 months, Adam has worked on contracts with a combined value of £1.2 billion. His experience extends into Civil Engineering, Highways, Construction, Recruitment, Rail Infrastructure and Defence where Adam reliably achieves a 80% win rate. His role at Tenders UK ensures projects are delivered on time, brimming with content that reassures the reader that the bidder is able to deliver the project and outcomes desired in the procurement.
With nearly 20 years procurement experience in the private and public sector, rail and London Underground, Jo has a successful and proven record of success in the implementation and strategic delivery of procurement projects.
Jo is currently responsible for strategic development and implementation of national procurement strategies as well as having functional procurement responsibility for IP including governance, competencies and tool sets. Jo is also responsible for processes that support increasing and monitoring supplier engagement and performance.
Jo is Network Rail Infrastructure Projects Professional Head of Procurement having worked in a number of locations, asset teams and role levels during her career with Network Rail. She has established a forum of procurement leads who represent the Regions, National and Major Projects and Programmes leading on a number of work streams and initiatives (succession planning, competences, professional development, systems, supplier engagement, intelligence) and represents Network Rail at the DfT Heads of Procurement Board meeting.
Sharing her passion for Procurement, expertise and experience has raised awareness both internally and throughout the Supply Chain and resulted in the delivery of the Sustainable Procurement Charter and delivery of key procurement legislative training while inspiring others in the profession.
Peter joined the Association in December 2002 from the Railways Directorate of the Department for Transport.
He had been with the DfT since 1994, working initially on the privatisation of the Rolling Stock Leasing Companies, then on the sale of other ex-BR businesses and finally on cross-industry liaison.
Peter was also heavily involved in setting up the National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering (NSAR). He currently runs a number of RIA’s strategic Special Interest Groups which meet regularly with Network Rail, TfL and HS2. He represents RIA on the Planning Oversight Group (POG) and is the focal point for ORR consultations and other activity relating to PR18/ CP6 (and also the current CP5 shortfall). He also set up and runs the Renewals Cost Working Group.
Stephen joined the Nichols Group in 1997 after 17 years with a major systems company working on big projects across Government, Finance and Games industries.
Since 1998 he has worked on many large rail infrastructure projects, including Jubilee Line Extension, West Coast Route Modernisation, ERTMS national programme, St Pancras International station, Crossrail, Manchester Metrolink, Jubilee Line signalling upgrade and as independent reporter for Network Rail/ORR. In the last five years Stephen has led independent reviews of major infrastructure projects and also critical finance sector programmes.
He led the independent assurance of Sir Peter Hendy review’s of Network Rail’s Control Period 5 in 2015, independent review of Account Switching readiness for Payments Council, independent market reviews for Network Rail of infrastructure, signalling and digital railway, management of consultancy support for the Hansford Review. The Hansford Review was commissioned as “an independent review of contest ability in the UK rail market" by the Network Rail board and the report was published in July 2017.
In 2018, Stephen has been leading market engagement exercises for DfT for both the Western and Southern rail links to Heathrow.
